01
The challenge
- News required quick responses and careful wording.
- One video could drift between questions relevant to different viewers.
- A short answer and a detailed guide needed different structures.
02
Key decisions
Separate format roles
We used Shorts to introduce the channel and test interest in topics. Long-form videos explained the issues in detail and suggested related material.
We reviewed reach for Shorts, and watch time and subscriptions for long-form videos.
Start with the viewer’s question
We removed openings that mixed two audiences. The opening explained what happened, who it affected and which facts needed checking.
The opening makes it clear which situation the video addresses.
Check facts before filming
Disputed claims and sources were logged before scripting; each story then connected proof, consequence and one related next video.
Viewers need both an accurate explanation and a clear account of how the news affects them.
03
What changed
Source checks became part of script preparation. Each opening identified a specific viewer situation. Short videos answered individual questions, while longer videos explained the topic in detail and connected viewers to related material.

How to assess the result
We review new uploads by format: where viewers come from, how long they watch and whether they continue to another video.
What to check next
Compare videos of the same format and age. Check where viewers leave and whether they continue to a related video.
